The Idaho Parent Resource: 3rd Edition - No Child Left Behind

Over the next 10 days, parents and schools throughout the state will receive a large-format, full color booklet called the Idaho Parent Resource: 3rd Edition. The booklet, which focuses on No Child Left Behind (NCLB), was produced by the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation and is the third installment in a series of helpful booklets for parents with children in Idaho's public, private and charter schools.

The 12-page Resource Guide is designed to help parents understand what NCLB is, how it affects their children, and how it affects Idaho schools. A special 8-page pull-out section is also included in the publication. This section, created by KSA-Plus Communications and reprinted with their kind permission, features easy-to-follow tips that parents can use to help their children benefit from NCLB.

"Our goal is to put useful information into the hands of Idaho parents so they can effectively partner with their local school(s) to help their children excel," said J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation Executive Director, Lori Fisher.

Publication highlights include:

  • An Overview of NCLB
  • NCLB requirements
  • How Idaho ranks
  • Success stories
  • Testing tips
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Additional resources
  • Tips on using report cards
  • Things parents should expect from schools

The Foundation is delivering 200 Parent Resource Guides to every school in Idaho, 25 to every district office, and educational agencies in the state as well as mailing 100,000 to Idaho households with children ages 6 to 17. 10,000 booklets are also available in Spanish.
